Interested in Tanzania? Attend the AGM of Britain Tanzania Society and Tanzania Development Trust on Saturday 30th October to find out about our work in Tanzania.
 

You are cordially invited to the AGM of the Britain Tanzania Society and Tanzania Development Trust, which will be held by Zoom.

This is a chance to find out more about the work of each organisation, what they’ve been doing over the last year, meet the post holders and others and ask questions.

We are delighted that our speaker this year will be The Rt. Hon. Sir Stephen O’Brien KBE. Sir Stephen is a British internationalist, humanitarian, diplomat, politician, global health advocate and campaigner, business leader and mentor, industrialist and lawyer who completed his term as United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs & Emergency Relief Coordinator in late 2017. He was born in Tanzania.

Janet Chapman will present TDT’s Annual Report and also talk briefly about the mapping project Crowd2Map and how you can get involved, Ben Taylor, will talk about Tanzanian Affairs, of which he is editor.

Our local rep for Mara, Rhobi Samwelly, will talk about her NGO fighting FGM, Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania, and her new role with the National Council for NGOs. LR for Kigoma, Benedicto Hosea will talk about our water project with his organisation Mboni ya Vijana, and LR for Tabora/Simiyu Ezekiel Kassanga about his open school for girls excluded by pregnancy.

You will hear from many of our members discussing their work in Tanzania, More details to follow.

The presentation section will be recorded. There will be a chance to ask questions via the chat.

There will be a short formal section at the end when members elect the Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Membership Secretary and Treasurer plus four members of the Executive committee of Tanzania Development Trust.

The link to the zoom meeting will be sent out the day before and 2 hours before the meeting to all who register.
