This session gave an outline of how free tools like OSM, Maps.Me and ODK can be used, offline, in the fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) .

Further to the Innovate To End GBV event held on 8 March organised by Felm and UNFPA, Janet Chapman from Crowd2Map Tanzania and representatives from Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania and Open Map for Development Tanzania has shown how free opensource tools can help prevent and respond to Gender Based Violence.

They talked about their work training village level Digital Champions, community groups and youthmappers to better map rural Tanzania into OpenStreetMap to help responders find girls and women at risk more quickly.

Don’t worry if you missed it, you can still watch the recording any time!
